AUCKLAND

Auckland City Mission

Everyday Auckland City Mission responds to poverty and great need in our city. They support people who come to them when they need access to permanent and sustained housing, enough nutritious food to eat, and when their physical and mental health is compromised. They respond to these needs with care and compassion while advocating for a reality where there are enough suitable homes, enough money for nutritious food and easily accessible health care for all. 

Buttabean Motivation

BBM Motivation – AKA Buttabean Motivation – has been operating across Auckland since 2014, helping people achieve their personal health, fitness, and life goals. It is run by people with lived experience in changing their mindsets and turning their lives around. They operate two free gyms in Auckland, run the BBM Foodshare and social supermarket and have a community kitchen in South Auckland which prepares and regularly provides healthy, affordable food for local people.

Child Cancer Foundation

Child Cancer Foundation is a New Zealand charity that provides support to children and families on their cancer journey. The foundation supports them every step of the way, helping them overcome challenges and maintain control of their lives. Their focus is on the whānau, not the cancer. No two families’ experiences are the same, and neither is the nature of the support they need.

Feed the Need

Feed the Need is focused on addressing food insecurity in low socio-economic areas of Auckland. Through community donations they provide school lunches and family meal packs to children in need, ensuring that no child goes hungry. Together with the community they aim to make a meaningful impact on the lives of these children and their families.

The Nest Collective

The Nest Collective is a registered charity that works alongside social workers and other community partners to provide free packs of baby essentials for whānau in need. Through generous community donations they give packs of new, pre-loved, handcrafted and repurposed essentials including clothing, toys, nappies, bedding, books and more.

Woven Earth

Woven Earth turns empty houses into homes for those who have fled violence and are trying to rebuild their lives. They are a caring community of individuals and businesses passionate about doing something positive in response to family violence. Through the power of community spirit, they use social media, personal networks and monetary donations to gather good-quality furniture, beds, bedding, homewares and white-ware, before transporting them to families in need. 

BRISBANE

Angel Flight

Angel Flight is a charity which coordinates non-emergency flights to assist country people to access specialist medical treatment that would otherwise be unavailable to them because of vast distance and high travel costs. All flights are free and may involve travel to medical facilities anywhere in Australia.

Blaze Aid

Blaze Aid is a volunteer-based organisation that works with families and individuals in rural Australia after natural disasters such as fires and floods. Working alongside rural families, their volunteers help to rebuild fences and other structures that have been damaged or destroyed.

Children’s Hospital Foundation

Children’s Hospital Foundation funds cutting-edge equipment, vital research and on the ground support for kids with all illnesses, injuries and conditions, throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales. They identify and action gaps in funding and support right across the kids’ health landscape – the places left lacking but no less deserving. Sometimes these gaps can appear small, filled by acts of kindness or compassion – a helping hand, a knowing smile or a place to play during a hospital stay.

Community Involvement Solutions

Community Involvement Solutions provides relief from poverty, economic disadvantage and mental and emotional distress. They offer support and training to improve individual outcomes through education. Working alongside Veteran and Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities, they help empower people to better their situation through developing holistic programs that create meaningful change.

GIVIT – Goods for a Good Cause

GIVIT works to inspire donors to meet the needs of people experiencing hardship in their local area. They work with trusted support organisations around Australia working collaboratively to match current needs with willing donors. Initially formed to address everyday hardships GIVIT now supports disaster recovery efforts around Australia as well respond to the needs of those experiencing domestic/family violence and supports those of our First Nations people.

Rosies – Friends on the Street

Rosies aims to offer friendship and unconditional acceptance to those who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, or are experiencing social isolation or loneliness. Just as you would offer a cup of tea or coffee to a friend who was visiting your home, they do the same for our friends on the street. Vans run by Rosies outreach volunteers visit locations around Queensland offering food, support and a friendly chat.

MELBOURNE

Backpacks 4 VIC Kids

Backpacks 4 VIC Kids is an Australian charity providing essential material aid to displaced children in Victoria (aged from birth to seventeen), gifts and school essentials to children in out-of-home care, emergency accommodation and secure facilities. Our mission is to ensure all displaced children, who cannot access their belongings, have the essentials they need to be clean, comforted and feel wanted.

Foodbank Victoria is the state’s largest food relief organisation providing vital food relief to vulnerable Victorians. We rescue and source food and groceries from farmers, manufacturers and retailers and distribute them to over 480 front-line charities to provide to Victorians in need.

GIVIT works to inspire donors to meet the needs of people experiencing hardship in their local area. They work with trusted support organisations around Australia working collaboratively to match current needs with willing donors. UNICEF Australia

UNICEF Australia works to ensure every child in need, here in Australia and across the Asia Pacific region, is healthy, educated and safe. UNICEF Australia supports a range of programs that are focused on nutrition, health, education, social inclusion, sanitation and support environments. UNICEF Australia also directs funding for humanitarian action in emergencies where children are especially vulnerable to disease, malnutrition and violence.

Victorian Homeless Fund

Victorian Homeless Fund uses 100% of its funds to build homes for those in need. Through the work of the VHF, long-term and transitional housing has been provided for an estimated 200 people, including group households and predominantly families, many with children fleeing domestic violence. Donations help turn a house in to a home. Money donated goes towards finishing touches like furnishings, toys and household products.

Food Bank Australia

Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, operating on a scale that makes it crucial to the work of the front-line charities who are feeding vulnerable Australians.

No Limits

No Limits supports the less fortunate, victims of domestic violence, vulnerable families and children, the elderly, those affected by fire, new comers & those just doing it tough by providing essential items such as food hampers, pre-loved furniture, toiletries & other basic essentials.

Ruah Community Services

Ruah Community Services has been supporting and empowering vulnerable and disadvantaged people to create positive change in their lives delivering tailored support for people experiencing homelessness, family and domestic violence, mental health challenges and, as a result, needing legal advice and support.

The Smith Family

The Smith Family is a national children’s charity helping disadvantaged Australian children to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.

The Spiers Centre

The Spiers Neighbourhood Centre provides emergency and day-to-day support, information and empowerment of individuals, families and communities through the provision of a range of practical and innovative services.

Youth Futures WA

Youth Futures empowers young people who want to change their lives for the better. Whether they’re homeless, struggling at school, experiencing mental health issues, or finding it hard to make ends meet, Youth Futures is there to support young people in their journey.

SYDNEY

CareFlight

CareFlight is an Australian aeromedical charity with a mission to save lives, speed recovery and serve the community. They use helicopters, aeroplanes and jets to fly specialist medical teams to the critically ill and injured. CareFlight treats and transports patients needing specialist care, from accident scenes and between medical facilities, across Australia and internationally.

Sydney Childrens Hospitals Foundation

One of the largest and most trusted kids’ health charities in the country, Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation exists to help provide all children with access to the best possible healthcare, whenever and wherever they need it.
Funds raised go directly to the front line of children’s health care – from the hospital’s wards to the treatment rooms, the research labs to the outreach programs.

The Smith Family is a national children’s charity helping disadvantaged Australian children to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.
